2023 THROWBACK!
29th December 20232023 is OVER! We’ve had a stellar year with some massive happenings, so we thought we’d take the time to look back at our 2023 and wrap up everything that happened. Join us as we jump into the Time Tunnel and travel back through the year!
Under New Management
Kyle Chick, our Chief Instructor, stepped up as General Manager of iFLY Sydney West. Also joining him in the management ranks are Barbara McCarthy Assistant General Manager and Lauren Hearn operations Manager, Congratulations to them for their hard work and dedication to flying!
Australian Small Business Award Winners
In June, iFLY Downunder won the Australian Small Business Award for Sports & Recreation. These awards aim to recognise small businesses who provide outstanding service in their field. We are still humbled and grateful to be recipients!
NSW Tourism Awards Silver Winners
What an amazing achievment winners in Silver for the NSW Tourism Awards in Tourist Attraction we had the pleasure of being up against amazing tourist Businesses,and we are extremley grateful.
Nine Years Old
This is our 9th year flying in a row! Since we broke ground in 2014, we’re always growing and learning the best ways to bring the thrill of indoor skydiving to as many people as possible!
xTend xTend-ed
xTend is our home-grown skydiving progression camp. We hosted two wildly successful xTend camps this year and can’t wait for the next one!
Inclusivity with IDPWD
iFLY joined the International Day of People With Disability event, and gave away 60 free flights for people living with disability! These were wholesome and successful events, and we loved seeing all the smiling faces.
Doni's World Championship
Doni Gales, one of our incredible Instructors, travelled to Slovakia to compete in the 2023 FAI Indoor Skydiving World Championships. After a well-flown show, Doni emerged in the top 10!
It's Windy in There
Indoor skydiving can get addicting! In fact, one flyer flew a whopping 71.2 hours this year alone. That’s almost three whole days spent in the wind! In contrast, Mason Corby, a world-class Instructor, spent 221 hours (or 9.2 days!) coaching other flyers in the wind. Incredible!
100 Years of Legacy
Legacy is a charity dedicated to helping military veterans and their families. 2023 marks 100 years of Legacy’s... legacy. We were asked to fly the torch as part of their relay across Australia and London!

Danke, Sandy, for hosting a sehr gut Oktoberfest! We had a ton of fun flying in our leiderhosen and drinking (alcohol-free) beer and bevvies at our wunderbar event!
Shepherding Adam Sheppard
Adam Sheppard, one of our passionate All Abilities flyers, joined the iFLY Gold Coast team as an Ambassador, helping us shape the way we make indoor skydiving more inclusive for everyone!
Jammin' Huckjams
We hosted a number of successful huckjams over the year. Huckjams are just one of the ways we give back to our most loyal Flight Club community. If you’re passionate about flying and want to rock up to a members-only huckjam, we’re always accepting new sign-ups!

In 2023, we invested $25,000 in sponsoring 19 skydiving events and boogies around the country. We love supporting the skydiving community in Australia, and are excited to continue supporting the growth of the sport and the skydivers and coaches in it.
